I qualified in 1992 after studying for a 4 year BSc (hons) degree in Speech and language and Therapeutics.
I previously worked in the NHS for 24 years, mainly in North West London. I now work solely as an Independent Speech and Language Therapist.
I am a member of the Royal college of Speech and Language Therapists (MRCSLT), a member of the Association of Independent Speech and Language Therapists in Independent practice (MASLTIP) and I am registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
I am registered with Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) as a Data controller and I comply with The Data Protection act (1998) and EU General Data Protection Regulations (2018). I also work in accordance with professional guidelines from the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists, and The Health and Care Professionals Council.

I work with young babies and children up to the age of 18 years old.
Referrals can be made to me by: Parents, Carers, Schools, Nurseries, Local education authorities (LEA's), Case managers, Therapists, Psychologists, Dietitians and Medics.
I visit clients in their homes or in their educational settings within the areas of Central and West London. I also provide online sessions (Zoom/Teams) to clients and families who are based all around the country. Online sessions are very effective and can meet your needs in various ways.
I offer a personal, caring, quality service, and treat each child as an important individual whilst devising a highly specialised programme unique to them.
I can visit children at home, nursery, school or unit, and I use easy, fun, practical and effective methods to develop their skills.
I like to work closely with parents and educational staff and train them (an important part of my sessions) so that they can also carry out communication programmes themselves and maximize a child's full potential. By empowering others in a child's life, families can become less dependent on the therapist.
In addition to directly working with children, I also design and run training packages for parents and professionals, and I provide supervision and consultancy input to professionals.

''Sam Loomba is an extremely knowledgeable, kind and generous Speech and Language Therapist. We immediately felt at ease and cannot emphasise how valuable we found our time with her. Sam's sessions with our 4 year old son were very hands on and fun and our son was immediately at ease and engaged in her presence and has made great progress. She is very professional and dedicated and you can see how much she loves her job. Following the sessions Sam gives verbal feedback and also sends very detailed Information Sheets which are so helpful to refer back to. Sam's experience really does come to light when working with her. She was fantastic throughout, always listens to any and every concern and advises on the best strategy, nothing is too much trouble for her. Sam has been wonderful to work with, she is excellent at her job, kind and supportive and we wholeheartedly recommend her''

''Highly recommended. A truly remarkable therapist who goes over and above to provide a personalised and professional service. Sam has a wealth of knowledge and experience informing the way she works and is brilliant at working collaboratively with parents sharing her observations and imparting all her techniques and strategies in an easy to understand way. She was always reassuring and positive about outcomes and provided me with a lot of moral support also. I refer back often to all that she has taught me and can't thank her enough for all the time and effort she put into planning O's session always attuned to our needs''

''Sam was recommended to us by a family she had helped in the past and she worked with my son (aged 4 at the point of referral) for 18 months, working directly with him, helping me help him and liaising closely with his teachers. Sam was able to hear snippets of my son's language and gauge exactly what the next step should be. She was brilliant in helping me help him - advising what to work on, when to push for more and when to hold back. His teachers also really welcomed and respected her advice. My son so benefitted from the coordinated, gentle and focused support he received from all of us working together as a result. I hugely valued the way Sam looked at things in the round working on both language and cognition and monitoring progress in both as we went. I think what is very special about Sam is her kindness, warmth, and belief in children and their potential. I feel very grateful to Sam for all her amazing help!''

''Sam was amazing and worked out exactly how to fine tune E's weak points. She couldn't have been more understanding and supportive and had a great connection with E! Kept him engaged for the entire hour. We loved her''
GS on 04/10/2021 (online sessions):
"Sam is a wonderful therapist. She helped my son H who has speech delay. I am so pleased and grateful we found Sam as the local services were severely restricted by Covid and thanks to Sam's help H was better prepared for starting school because we taught him phrases to initiate play with other children, he's much happier because of it. She also really helped him overcome an issue he had with eating at nursey and drinking from a cup."

''I am more than happy to write a review for Mrs Loomba. She is a really great therapist and I will always recommend her without any hesitation. My child really progressed and enjoyed the sessions with Sam''.
KW on 24/06/2021 (online sessions):
''I was quite skeptical at first to be honest about Zoom sessions, but R has made such good progress since we started doing these sessions with Sam, we are really pleased to continue working like this. R is a very active child with severe autism, but Sam has really good ways of working with him and us, so I would definitely recommend these online sessions, especially with such long waiting lists everywhere'

""We had a series of sessions with Samantha Loomba during the summer (2018) to help with WB (2 years 9 months old at the time of the sessions) who has developmental speech and language issues. Samantha was amazing at engaging WB for the whole session and a whole hour for a two year old is a very long time! WB showed improvement throughout the summer, both with his use of language, his non-verbal communication and his social interaction with others. samantha was also generous with her time, invariably staying at our home for fiftenn minutes longer than the session was booked for. She was always on time and we found herboth professional and caring throughout all our sessions. thank you for all your help Sam! ""

"Sam is fantastic and has been since we met her and she met our son, who is on the autistic spectrum.
She is so professional in everything she does - from reminding you about appointments via email or text to the sessions themselves.
She engages completely with our son and gets the most out of every session.
She also then supplies backup material either straight after the session in person on on email.
We are so glad to have found her. She is fantastic, warm and kind and I cannot praise her highly enough!"

"Choosing Samantha for our daughter was the best thing we ever did. She was able to get my little girl speaking 3 word sentences within the first half hour of meeting her. We are so grateful for everything she has done, my daughter loves her and is so excited everytime she sees her. She is truly amazing at what she does and I would always recommend her to someone. I don't know what I would of done without her to be honest. We loved having her around. ""

"Samantha has been seeing my son over the summer. He has made tremendous progress over this period. She is an exceptional SLT equipped with excellent techniques and strategies that I have successfully implemented into his daily routines to help with his speech. She makes her sessions engaging and provides constant feedback throughout. Sam always makes sure to listen to my concerns, and comes back with suggestions that have resulted in positive results when it comes to my sons speech, behaviour and development. We are very lucky that she has managed to take our son on board! No amounts of gratitude will make up for the difference you have made in our lives! "

"Sam has been working with my 5 year old son S for 6 months. S had been seeing other speech and language therapists but wasn't making the progress they wanted so I wanted a second opinion from a more experienced therapist. Sam's experience and approach has made such a difference. Instead of twice weekly SLT sessions that we both found demoralising, Sam gave us the tools to do SLT all day every day. She has kept S's interest both in home and online and has helped us measure his progress. We are so pleased we found her!"
