Shiatsu works with energy, Qi or 'life force'; clearing blocks and strengthening weakness, which if left to continue can lead to injury and chronic ill health. It is a holistic treatment which works physically, psychologically and spiritually. Shiatsu provides a deeply relaxing and supportive quality of touch which awakens the body's self healing process. It can be helpful for joint and muscle pain, injury rehabilitation, stress, substance abuse and addiction, anxiety and depression and fertility problems. Shiatsu may also be helpful for digestive disorders, sleep problems, hormonal problems, headaches, amongst many other issues.
I work on a comfortable mat on the floor and the treatment is received fully clothed.
I offer ongoing exercises and lifestyle suggestions in order that people can take responsibility for their own well-being. In Shiatsu underlying causes of ill health are addressed, which means that conditions should improve rather than continue to re-occur.
