Stephanie  Moore
Cognitive Behavioural Therapist in Whatton

Hello I'm Steph, an accredited CBT therapist specialising in supporting people with anxiety and low self-esteem. I understand how exhausting and overwhelming it feels to carry the burden of self-doubt. Not feeling good enough, overthinking everything and feeling like an imposter. I understand how isolating it can feel, especially if you have become skilled in masking your true feelings to the outside world.
Through my personal experience of learning to manage anxiety and using cognitive behavioural therapy, I can support you to better understand where your anxiety and self-doubt comes from. We will do this by exploring the relationship between your thoughts, feelings and behaviours and how this links to your past experiences.
With a deeper understanding of self, we will work together on developing new coping strategies to help you to navigate the challenges you face. I will be here alongside you, to offer guidance and help you to make sense of what might feel like a hopeless and confusing time.

Background & Cognitive Behavioural Therapy Qualifications

I have over 12 years' experience working in the helping profession. I started my career as a Social Worker supporting children and families, then made the move into child mental health, where I spent many years working in the NHS. During this time, I retrained as a Cognitive Behavioural Therapist and have supported adults, children and young people to improve their mental health.

Approach to Cognitive Behavioural Therapy & How I Work

I'm a down to earth Yorkshire lass who values building genuine connections with my clients. I'm passionate about helping others to find their voice and become more compassionate and accepting of themselves.

I work with individuals on a weekly/fortnightly basis. During the initial sessions we will spend time mapping out your current difficulties. This will involve identifying your triggers and how these impact your thought patterns, emotions and how you behave. This is to help us develop a shared understanding of your experience and to identify what's keeping the problem going.
Once we have a clear understanding of the problem, the next step will be to develop an individualised treatment plan. This will include learning and practising new techniques to be able to manage your anxiety in a way that provides long term change.
