CHARLOTTE HOLDEN Counselling

Charlotte Holden
Counsellor in Berks

Hi, good to 'meet' you, I'm Charlotte.

Life can often tip us from 'coping' to 'struggling'. Up For Air Counselling was set up to address just that, to give you the chance to speak, be heard and to allow yourself the time to untangle current difficulties, whether they stem from past experience or events of today. Often clients come in with a goal but find something different causing the emotional blockage that they hadn't considered before. Most just want to reduce the 'noise', understand themselves and their actions and bring a sense of calm and happiness back into their lives.

Background & Counselling Qualifications

I have a background in HR and creative thinking, both of which can help in the therapy room.

I am qualified to Level 5 as a Psychotherapeutic Counsellor and have the following qualifications: Professional Diploma in Psychotherapeutic Counselling, Diploma in Counselling Skills and Theory, Diploma in Hypnotherapy.

I also have Level 3 in Safeguarding and a further certification from Human Givens College in 'Trauma: Patterns of the Past'.

I am on an Accredited Register, accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (NCPS)

My Specialisms

I have extensive experience and empathy in the complex world of Special Educational Needs which was one of the drivers for me to qualify as a Counsellor. I work with families with new SEN/genetic diagnoses through charity work.

I also have an interest in Trauma work especially stemming from childhood whether that be parental values, abuse or school (including boarding school) trauma.

I have always had a genuine interest in meeting people and hearing their stories. To be able to walk with them in understanding and untangling areas of difficulty is a very humbling process.

Approach to Counselling & How I Work

I work with anyone aged 18 and over. I offer a safe and confidential space where you won't be disturbed and will have the chance to unpick areas where you feel stuck, whether that be in my therapy room in Sunningdale or online.

You will learn practical techniques to address some of the symptoms of anxiety and low mood, whilst getting a clearer understanding of yourself, your wants and needs. I am very open in my approach and warmly welcome you to have a chat so you can get to know me and my style.
