As a qualified therapist and registered member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) I adhere to their ethical guidelines and standards.
I have spent many years working in the LGBTQ+ community, particularly with gay men. However everyone is welcome at my practice - it's non judgmental and I offer a safe space. The space to explore and express yourself; to gain understanding and experiment with responding to to challenges and emotions in new ways, opening the way for new choices and opportunities.
I worked for 15 years as a Sexual Health Adviser at 56 Dean Street.
I have experience as an outreach worker in Glasgow and London, eduction and training and counselling work in charities such as London Friend and the Helios Foundation.
All of us are individuals and I provide an approach that is particular to you and your circumstances.
I work in partnership with you. I offer perspectives, psycho-education and strategies. I see therapy as a dialogue.
As an integrative therapist I utilise a number of psychotherapy models which emphasise different dimensions of the human experience.
My practice is informed by theories of attachment, neuro-science, CBT (cognitive behavioural therapy), psycho -dynamic and humanistic therapies.
These models work collaboratively to assist in understanding how our bodies work, the way in which our thoughts and behaviours impact our experiences, the influence of events from our past and the role of relationships in our lives.
