Have you survived sexual abuse or rape, either at childhood or at later life? Do you feel shame, guilt, anger, fear or experience flashbacks? Are you experiencing physical and emotional reactions? Deciding to attend counselling can feel daunting. The thought of opening up to a stranger about your experiences can feel scary and overwhelming.
You can choose to have a short term or a longer period of therapy, I will work and adapt to your needs.

Background & Counselling Qualifications

I always had an interest in psychology. During lockdown I decided to use my free time and learn something new. I started with Counselling Skills studies, and continued to progress on to the next levels.
I have been exploring further courses and would like to continue my studies in Relationship/Couples counselling.

CPCAB Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling - Level 4 (BACP approved)
CPCAB Certificate in Counselling Studies - Level 3

My Specialisms

I am a qualified counsellor and registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy-BACP. I have gained experience working for charity organisation, who specialises in Rape and Sexual abuse and other local charities to enhance my skills.
I have undertaken specialised training in trauma therapy to enable me to work with adults who have survived sexual abuse.

Approach to Counselling & How I Work

I am trauma informed therapist; I work in the Person-centred way and incorporate other therapeutic methods to suit your individual needs. I follow BACP ethical framework to ensure I work professionally, safely and ethically.
As a strong believer in Humanistic approach, I will focus on your needs. Working together I can help you to explore the thoughts, feelings, and emotions, you are going through and help you to move forward in life in a more positive way.
