I have a first class Honours Degree, which is made up of levels 4 and 5 Psychology and Counselling Skills, and level 6 Social and Therapeutic Interventions.
I am currently completing my BPS accreditation with a Masters degree in Psychology of Mental Health and Wellbeing.
My training includes working with anxiety and depression. I understand the role of trauma and the stress response, and I feel that its really important to notice how this can show up in many aspects of life. I also support people who may be experiencing grief, whether recent or historic.
I have experience in working with autism and ADHD, as well as with those who consider themselves to be highly sensitive people.
I am able to offer Walk and Talk therapy, where the outdoor space can provide a calming and non-direct environment. Some people may find this an easier way to have counselling.
My approach is person-centred. As everyone is unique I aim to draw on approaches which I feel are beneficial as we get to know each other, such as art therapy techniques or cognitive behavioural therapy.
To make counselling more accessible I offer face to face sessions but also telephone or online sessions, or a mixture of these if needed.
