My name is Jenny, I'm an integrative counsellor with my own independent counselling practice. Approach to Counselling & How I Work

I'm trained to be attuned to you and your struggles, to listen and help you gain understanding whether it's feeling stuck, difficulties from your childhood, anxiety or other such difficulties that may be troubling you. The present difficulties are often symptoms from unresolved painful experiences, or the repetition of certain patterns of thinking and behaviour, this may have helped you in the past but no longer serves you in the here and now.
With an authentic, non - judgmental and compassionate stance I will help you be heard, identify and process the deep-rooted unresolved issues or negative beliefs about yourself that are the source of current pain, and to achieve different and broader perspectives. Once explored and processed we can incorporate are self care and self confidence within you.
During the process, as you start to feel truly seen, valued and understood in therapy you will start to be more connected with yourself and more in an authentic way that empowers you to let go of the past which will help you to make positive decisions and healthier choices for a more satisfied life.

Lego Therapy - 60 Minutes £40 School setting/Counselling Agency Lego Therapy is about connecting children with other children to support their interactions with each other through Lego play. It can take place in the classroom or onsite at a counselling agency. Lego as a therapeutic intervention has been around some time and using this idea for developing an intervention involving construction toys is fun for children and a powerful method to help them gain social skills that they will need for adult life. Skills such as turn taking, sharing, listening, teamwork and problem solving. Sessions are carried out in one hour blocks, with three children in a session filling three roles and all will take turns having a turn at each role. These roles are: Engineer — Uses plans to describe a construction and the bricks needed to build it Supplier — Identifies the bricks described by the Engineer and hands them to the Builder: Builder — Uses the verbal instructions from the Engineer to assemble the construction When each child continues to come to these sessions, they will have experience of each role and in turn learn to understand and gain verbal and non-verbal communication. As each child moves through the roles they will learn skills for creativity, joint problem solving and joint attention. Playing with Lego in a systematic way mean children can apply these methods into their everyday life. Whilst being particularly useful as a tool for teaching children with Autism and ADHD, not only children that are on the autistic spectrum can gain from this but of those that have challenging lives, home school community, children unable to be in a class room setting and children that find communicating an issue. Anyone starting reception class upwards at school is able to do Lego Therapy. A discount is available for students on their level 4 Diploma Counselling Course and for those in the Military. I do understand the current economic climate and will always look to offer value for money where I can.
