Hi, I'm Lucy and I'm a psychotherapist and counsellor, working both face-to-face in central London and online. I am registered as a professional member of the BACP, and qualified with a BSc (1st class Hons) degree in Counselling and Psychotherapy. As well as my private practice, I have worked for the therapeutic agencies Choose Therapy and London Young Counselling. I am qualified in Psychodynamic, Person-Centred, Cognitive-Behavioural and Existential therapies, I work as an integrative therapist blending the scientifically researched theories of these modalities to support each individual client. I had an earlier career supporting neurodivergent needs in education, so I am keenly aware how, despite commonalities, we exist on a spectrum of ways in which we process thoughts and feelings. In light of this I consider how creative and attuned tools and strategies can help you work through personal challenges.
I aim to support you with useful strategies for the present, alongside an awareness of how the past may exerting its influence. When we find ourselves in a moment in life where we feel overwhelmed, lost, stuck, anxious or depressed, that sense of longing for understanding (and relief) can be keenly felt within ourselves. Perhaps you have felt this way for a while or you are suddenly facing a transition in your life or an evaluation of your identity, purpose or relationships. Therapy is at heart, a relationship and a process that supports you to make sense of yourself and the world around you, and to find your way towards insight and healing. As a psychotherapist, I aim to support you to explore your influences, beliefs and patterns, to consider what motivates your choices and feelings, to develop new communication and coping skills, to connect with yourself and enhance your sense of contentment, direction and empowerment in your life.
Often times when we struggle with our mental health it relates to our relationship with our self, with those we are in some form of relationship with or with our relationship to the world at large. Issues that arise from this can include elements of anxiety and depression, we may have a sense that we are not coping and feel overwhelmed by our emotions or numb. We may find ourselves struggling with changes in life or struggling with a lack of change and feeling stuck or disempowered.
My work is to help support you to cope with the present situation and gain understanding of the influence of the past.
I see clients in person at my therapy room at Landmark Marylebone, 4 Devonshire Street, London W1W 5DT. Here I have limited availability and may have a waiting list for certain times. My in-person sessions are charged at the rate of £80 a session, but I offer a reduced rate for online video sessions of £60 per session and can offer a wider range of time slots for this service. It's important to me that people who seek it have access to therapy, so please enquire about concession rates if you feel that you may be eligible.
