My Specialisms

*Stress reduction - I work with clients to identify the causes of their stress and the areas of self-care which are under-prioritised in their lives, helping design ways that the client can reduce their level of stress which are real, relevant and possible for them to incorporate into daily life.
*Anxiety - I work with the physical symptoms of anxiety. I teach relaxation techniques and introduce clients to mindfulness and meditation, developing the client's own ability to control and calm themselves when the self-soothing response has perhaps not been properly learned in childhood.
*Depression - I work to help the client uncover the underlying causes and of their depression, surfacing the self-limiting beliefs which may result in poor self-esteem. Then we can start to change the internal dialogue.
*Bereavement and loss - I help clients deal with any unfinished business with the person who has died, or the relationship which has been lost.
*Relationship issues - I work with both couples and individuals to achieve desired change
*I also support clients with the following presenting issues;

Approach to Counselling & How I Work

The counselling session is your time and space to talk about whatever you find difficult whether its past or present. My role is to focus on what you are feeling about your life and what you want to get out of it. We identify the gap between how you feel now and how you want to feel, and I support you to move towards that.
When suffering, taking the first steps can be very daunting so well done for getting this far. During our initial contact my main aim will be to put you at ease and help you fully understand the process and what to expect to make sure that this is the right path for you to promote positive change and enable you to move forward with confidence.
