Paul Vernon Counselling

Paul Vernon
Counsellor in Brighton

I understand therapy as a process of self-exploration within the safety of a therapeutic relationship that is characterised by acceptance, empathy and authenticity.

I work in a person-led way, which means that our work together will be unique and will respond to what would be helpful and therapeutic for you.

I provide an open, supportive and non-judgemental space to explore the issues and feelings that you bring to the session.

Approach to Counselling & How I Work

I am a highly qualified therapist with over sixteen years experience of working in the therapeutic field.

In essence, I integrate all of my trainings and experience, but it is the relationship between client and therapist that I value most highly, and as research has shown, I believe it is the relationship which proves the single most powerful factor in effective therapy.

I therefore, work with a warm, sensitive, empathetic style, finding that authenticity and sometimes even humour can be of great value in the building of trust and safety. With this in place I draw on a wide range of therapeutic approaches and interventions so that I can tailor the sessions for each individual client.
