I am a fully qualified counsellor and a member of the BACP (British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists), NCPS (National Psychotherapy and Counselling Society) and ACTO (Association for Counselling and Therapy Online) all professional bodies representing counsellors and psychotherapists.
I work with adults and young people.
As a therapist, I provide a supportive and non-judgmental space for both young people and adults to explore and address the challenges they face. My approach is collaborative and person-centred, meaning I work alongside my clients to help them understand and manage their thoughts, emotions, and behaviours.
I have a particular focus on working with young and adult males, as they often face unique mental health challenges. I have dealt with issues such as:
Anxiety and Stress: Dealing with societal pressures, career challenges, or academic performance often triggers overwhelming stress and anxiety.
Low Self-Esteem: Struggles with confidence, self-worth, and the need to meet external expectations can be prevalent.
Depression: Feelings of sadness, hopelessness, and isolation, often kept hidden due to stigma around expressing vulnerability.
Relationship Issues: Whether it's navigating romantic relationships, friendships, or family dynamics, male clients often feel pressure to maintain certain roles.
Anger and Emotional Regulation: Many male clients have difficulty expressing their emotions, leading to frustration and anger outbursts.
Male Identity and Masculinity: Conflicts around masculinity, societal expectations, and personal identity.
Career and Life Transitions: Struggles related to career progression, life changes, and the pressure to succeed.
In my work with this group, I create a safe and confidential space where male clients can feel heard and understood without judgment. We focus on building self-awareness, learning coping strategies, and developing healthier emotional and relational patterns. I encourage open dialogue and help my clients reframe unhelpful beliefs that may be limiting their potential. Together, we'll work towards understanding the root causes of their challenges and finding practical solutions that improve their overall well-being.
With online therapy, you can connect from the comfort of your own home or any space where you feel safe. This flexibility allows you to fit sessions into your schedule without added stress of travelling. Working online allows you to seek help from anywhere, making counselling more accessible than ever. Plus, it gives you the chance to connect with a therapist who truly connects with you, regardless of location.
Integrative therapy combines techniques from different therapeutic approaches to tailor treatment to each client's unique needs. Rather than following one strict method, it draws from models like cognitive-behavioural, humanistic, and psychodynamic therapies. This flexible approach helps address various emotional, behavioural, and psychological issues.
I invite you to reach out. Even if you are not sure, I am happy to answer any questions or concerns you may have before you begin your counselling journey. I'm here to walk alongside you every step of the way.

"I just wanted to review my experience with Steve as my counsellor. Honestly, I didn't know what to expect going into this whole thing, but it turned out to be a game changer for me.
First off, the online sessions were perfect. I could chill in my own space, and that made it way easier to open up. No awkward waiting rooms or anything—just me, my laptop, and Steve. It felt relaxed, and I could focus on what really mattered.
From day one Steve made me feel totally comfortable. Like, I could be real with him without any judgment. He listened to everything I had to say, and it felt like he really cared. He helped me dig into some tough stuff, but he always made sure I felt supported. It was like talking to a friend who just gets it.
Thanks to our sessions, I've gained so much clarity on what I want in life and how to deal with my anxiety. I can't believe I waited so long to try this out. If you're thinking about counselling, do it, and definitely go with Steve if you can.
Thanks, Steve! You've made a huge difference in my life."
