Victoria  Brennan
Counsellor in Lytham

I'm a grounded and congruent practitioner who values honesty, presence, and real connection. My calm and steady approach helps clients feel safe, supported, and able to open up at their own pace. I work realistically and with compassion, creating a space where vulnerability is met with respect and care

Background & Counselling Qualifications

My training in addiction services exposed me to a variety of complex challenges, including substance misuse, binge drinking, and the underlying stressors that drive these behaviours. I support clients in exploring the root causes of their addiction, including post-detox work, and help them rebuild at their own pace.

I am trained in person-centred, psychodynamic, and solution-focused approaches, allowing me to adapt my work to each client's individual needs. I also work with Employee Assistance Programmes (EAPs), offering in-the-moment support, counselling sessions, and assessments to ensure clients are matched with appropriate care.

My Specialisms

I specialise in working with addiction, including substance use and binge behaviours, as well as self-harm. I also support clients navigating relationship and sexual issues, helping them explore emotional patterns, improve communication, and build healthier connections

Approach to Counselling & How I Work

My approach to therapy is flexible and tailored to each individual. I believe every client is unique, so I adapt my work to suit their needs, goals, and the pace they're comfortable with. Whether a client wants to explore a specific issue or is working towards a broader goal, I shape our sessions around what will support them best.

While talking therapy is often part of the process, I also think outside the box and integrate creative or alternative methods when helpful. This might include visual tools, reflective exercises, or other ways of exploring thoughts and feelings beyond words. My aim is always to meet the client where they are and support them in finding deeper understanding, new perspectives, and meaningful change.
