I took my first two Biodynamic Craniosacral workshops in February 2010 with Rosemary Wallace. I then took the Dynamic Stillness schools Initiatory class with Giorgia Milne in June 2011 in Denmark, closely followed by the mentor class from October 2011 to July 2012 in California. And again from April 2012 to January 2013 in Denmark, just to ensure a full immersion in the work.
I received my Counselling Qualification from the UEA in November 2016. I completed a placement with MIND and am still on placement with the Sue Lambert Trust (working with those who have experienced sexual abuse or assault). I have also completed a separate module to meet the requirements for working with children and young people.
I am also a qualified Occupational Therapist and through that am registered with the HCPC (Health and Care Professions Council). I prefer to keep my registration centralised through this large organisation so choose not to join separate professional bodies for Counselling and Craniosacral work. However I adhere to professional and ethical guidelines where available and receive regular supervision and CPD (Continuing Professional Development) for all the work I do.
I have worked as an OT in the areas of mental health, learning disability and hospice / palliative care as well as placements in the areas of older people and complex physical disabilities (inc. neurological). I have worked as a volunteer with Kith and Kids working with children and adults with learning, physical and sensory disabilities and their siblings. I have worked as a support worker with young people and adults on the autistic spectrum, with mental health diagnoses, with palliative conditions and with learning disabilities.
In Craniosacral work I have worked with people experiencing chronic pain, chronic fatigue / ME, Ehlers-Danios syndrome, trauma inc. from accidents, paranoia and stress, as well as those in states of relative wellness. Results have often been profound, and include giving a sense of deep peace and rejuvenation, as well as changes to musculoskeletal system.
I have experience in the areas listed in Background and Qualifications. I'm not sure that I believe in specialisms. Because of the underlying philosophy of the work I do, there are no techniques applied, rather space is provided to support optimisation and movement towards wholeness.
As the head of my Stillness Touch Craniosacral School puts it: "one of many different healing modalities can work for different people at different times, so what is it that's doing the work?"
As a Counselling peer says: "There's always something going on". Both Stillness Touch Craniosacral and Person-centred counselling offer the opportunity to slow down enough to glimpse what's really going on. And, indeed, who we really are.
It is important to me to work with integrity, and this is something that has been noted by clients I've worked with.

"I cannot recommend Jane's work more highly.
I was very impressed with her open and friendly manner and her sensitive response to my problems. She is empathic and strong which enabled me to be in touch with myself in the deep way I needed in order to move through some extremely difficult feelings with ease. And even find my sense of humour.
Her bodywork too was highly effective. She combines a gentle touch with an exquisite presence. Brilliant! Thank you so much Jane."

"I have so far had 2 sessions with Jane. The first time I came with a re-occurence of trigeminal neuralgia and grief/anxiety following the death of my mother. Jane was very open and gave me plenty of space and time. I felt so comfortable and happy lying on her treatment table. The treatment was profound. I hardly felt her touch and yet I was aware of changes happening in my body. Jane gave me time to "recover" afterwards. The trigeminal neuralgia did not return and the anxiety had cleared - I was able to simply grieve. The second treatment has built on the first and deepened and I have found it has helped me open into a meditational/mindful energy, which was my intention on the day."

"I have no idea how Stillness Touch (Craniosacral Therapy) works! All I do know is that when I have received treatment, there is a profound sense of peace, and of returning to some basic state of being.
I first experienced Stillness Touch in the healing area of a music festival. Something intangible happened that made me think that I wanted to explore further. In retrospect I can see that it was the start of a whole world of healing and self discovery.
The practitioner, Jane Nunn, provides a calm space which is held with confidence and trust."
