My continuing passion for finding new ways to help my clients attracted me me to Biodynamic Craniosacral therapy. I qualified after a two year training (BCST) with Body Intelligence, global leaders in this field. I am a member of the Craniosacral Therapy Association. My experience of energy work and bodywork inevitably inform my approach to this ground breaking form of natural healing.
My career as a therapist began in the healing clinic at the College of Psychic Studies, where I am now a tutor on the accredited healing course.
I qualified as a holistic massage therapist in 2008 and I am accredited by the Massage Training Institute (MTI).
I am also qualified in The Therapeutic Use of Mindfulness by the British Minfulness Institute. I find this a useful tool that I can pass on to my clients - helping them to help themselves.
Craniosacral therapy is attracting increasing interest for its gentle yet effective approach, working directly with the body's natural capacity for self-repair to treat a wide range of conditions. It often helps those suffering chronic symptoms that haven't been aided by other approaches. Effective with stress-related dysfunctions including insomnia, fatigue, headaches, poor digestion and anxiety. Craniosacral therapy works to reverse the debilitating effects of stress by providing the conditions in which the nervous system can rest and rejuvenate.
At the beginning of a session we talk about your needs and expectations as well looking at anything in your life that you feel may be affecting your health. I will also try and answer any questions you have about CranioSacral therapy. Although CST is not a talking based therapy, a gentle dialogue may continue in response to what is emerging from treatment. You are a unique individual and treatment is tailored to your specific needs. The number of sessions required again depends upon your needs. Most people benefit from committing to a process or incorporating regular therapy into their regime. Some (myself included) hold craniosacral therapy as part of a life time commitment to self-knowledge and healthcare.
I work with the client lying, fully clothed, on a comfortable couch and placing my hands on the body. It is not a massage, neither are there any sudden or painful manipulations. CST is gentle and non-invasive, the sensations consist mostly of warm, comforting, light pressures. You may feel a deep sense of relaxation and possibly become aware of heat or other gentle sensations. The importance of relaxation cannot be overstated when it comes to health and well-being. The deep relaxation experienced during CST allows the nervous system to calm down, the body to heal itself. In essence natural harmony is restored.
I am committed to my work, which is at it's most effective when my clients are committed to their own healing. The benefits can be profound and promote a positive shift towards health, balance, peace of mind and confidence. Progress toward health may involve dealing with emotional wounds from the past and a shifting away from negative ways of thinking and feeling.
Although completely respected, no specific religious or spiritual beliefs are required. I have no agenda other than your well-being. Any personal information you give is always held in the strictest confidence.
