Wai Kan
Mindfulness Practitioner in London

Anxiety, stress , depression and mood related issues are very common in modern living. There are times when we may feel overwhelmed, stuck, confused or lost.

I can help you to better understand the situation and manage any difficulties you are experiencing right now, make conscious choices and necessary changes, through which you may regain a sense of personal power and reconnect with your better self.

My approach- I strongly believe that in each challenge that is presented in our lives lies great potential for self-discovery and personal growth. As a human being, we have infinite possibilities and qualities within ourselves to reach our full potential.

Through our experience of past conditioning and traumas, we might unknowingly become trapped in our old beliefs, attitudes and perceptions of the world around us. If left unchecked, we can be constantly driven by our unconscious fear and needs which can greatly affect our ability in managing our emotions, relationships and challenging situations.

Change can be hard but is sometimes necessary and inevitable. It may occur naturally or consciously when we allow ourselves to step back and see things with a wider perspective. Change can bring movement and transformation which may come from a deeper understanding of the relationship we have with ourselves and others. Through therapy, I can help you to gain a fresh perspective of the situation. It may allow you to make more conscious choices and necessary adjustment both within yourself and your environment which could help you to move forward.

Approach to Mindfulness & How I Work

I work in both short-term and open-ended. I believe that it is important to tune in to each client's needs and work accordingly.

I understand that therapy can be a daunting experience for many people. My approach to therapy is client-centred. I listen fully without judgement. My aim is to provide a safe and holding environment for you to explore your issues. With a gentle approach, I guide you through your difficulty at an appropriate pace. With great respect and consideration, I might apply suitable techniques that aim to help you to better manage your current situation, to gain a deeper undertanding of your inner responds and to explore the potential that lie within the issue which may lead to a positive change.

What to expect-
In the initial session, we will have the oppotunity to meet and talk about your issues. Whilst discussing the issue you choose to bring, I may ask some questions about your background and current life which would allow me to better understand and visualise your world. It is important for me to get an idea of who you are and the environment you are in. You may ask me questions about the therapy at any time during the session if you wish. At the end of the 50 minutes session, we can decide whether we would like to work together.

It is ok to start our therapeutic relationship one session at a time, or if you feel it is helpful for you, you may book a block of six sessions and we can have a review of our progress before the end of the block before we decide the best way to move forward.

As a registered memeber of The British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy, I observe and practice within the ethics in line with the professional body.

All informations and discussions between the client and I are completely confidential.
