Our everyday activities such as work, exercise, even looking after children, may create patterns of movement and posture that strain the joints or muscles, and eventually lead to pain and dysfunction. Sometime an injury, old or new, can make things worse still.
"My role is to figure out what and where the problem is, and recreate freedom of movement and good function in the body. I do this by working on tight muscles and joints throughout the body, using massage, mobilisation and manipulation. I then discuss with my patient further ways to help relieve symptoms and simple exercises and ideas to maintain what we have achieved during the treatment." - Orit Huntley
I may also use Visceral Osteopathy where appropriate, working on the abdominal or pelvic organs.
Considering the effects that surgery, chronic inflammation or trauma to the organs can have on the body - for example protective posture, nerve connections, even emotional effects - it makes sense to address those organs in questions, and this kind of treatment is often very useful.
Practice Paediatric and Cranial Osteopathy.
Orit has seen many young ones, from babies with sleep or digestion problems to teens with football injuries - and she absolutely loves treating them all! Not only because they are adorable, but also because young bodies are so vital and quick to respond, very often just a little tweak or two will make a huge difference.
