I hold the following qualifications:
MSc in Counselling and Psychotherapy from Keele University, accredited by the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP)
BSc in Psychology with Counselling and Psychotherapy from Manchester Metropolitan University
In addition to my professional qualifications, I bring over two decades of experience as a teacher and project manager. This background equips me with a unique perspective on workplace stress and interpersonal challenges, which I incorporate into my work with clients.
My experience also includes placements working with adults, children, and young people across various modalities, including face-to-face, online, and telephone counselling. Additionally, my work as a peer support worker and lived experience forum coordinator at TOG Mind has deepened my understanding of mental health and the transformative power of therapy.
I specialize in working with individuals experiencing:
Anxiety (including general anxiety, social anxiety, and health anxiety)
Depression and low mood
Low self-esteem and low self-confidence
Stress and burnout
Perfectionism
Loneliness and isolation
Bereavement and loss
Life transitions and adjustment difficulties
I am a Person-Centred Psychotherapist, which means I offer a non-judgmental, compassionate, and empathetic space where you can explore your emotions freely. My approach is client-led, meaning we work at your pace, focusing on what feels most important to you.
I believe that therapy should be an empowering experience, helping you develop self-awareness, resilience, and coping strategies. I integrate elements of mindfulness, grounding techniques, and emotional regulation strategies where beneficial.
I offer online, phone, and in-person sessions to accommodate different preferences. My practice is open to adults and young people aged 11+, and I provide a free 15-minute consultation to discuss your needs and how we can work together.
