Lynda - Person-Centred Counsellor

Welcome to my counselling profile. Taking this first step toward therapy is an important and courageous decision, and I appreciate the opportunity to support you on your journey.

Background & Psychotherapy Qualifications

Beyond my professional training, I bring valuable life experience to my work. As a parent to adult children, I understand the challenges, dilemmas, and pressures that arise at different stages of life. I also have a personal interest in PTSD and mental health, which further deepens my empathy and understanding when working with clients facing these difficulties.

I qualified as a counsellor in 2024 and am continually expanding my skills through further training and professional development. My passion lies in helping clients improve their sense of self and gain autonomy—all within a trusting, non-judgmental therapeutic relationship.

My Specialisms

I have supported clients with a range of concerns, including:

• Anxiety & stress
• Self-image & self-esteem worries
• Childhood trauma
• Relationship & communication challenges
• Experiences of emotional, physical, or sexual abuse
• Coercive and financial abuse
• Personality disorders (such as narcissism)
• Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)

Approach to Psychotherapy & How I Work

As a qualified counsellor, I have a deep commitment to helping individuals explore who they are and uncover the answers they seek within themselves. My approach is person-centred therapy, which means our sessions are entirely led by you—at your own pace, on the topics you choose, and with the level of disclosure that feels right for you. Unlike other therapeutic approaches, person-centred therapy focuses on the here and now rather than structured assessments or tasks outside of our sessions. There's no homework—just a safe, supportive space for you to express yourself freely.

During our time together, I will listen without judgment, validate your thoughts and feelings, and ensure that your emotional well-being remains my priority. I have supported clients with a range of concerns,
