Linda Thompson
Relationship Therapist in Kent

Hi, I'm Linda. Taking the first step toward positive change can feel hard; Not knowing where to turn can leave you feeling anxious and alone.  But, by being here, you've already found the courage to start the process.

Navigating life's ups and downs can feel stressful and confusing. The effect on our anxiety levels can impact how we manage our everyday lives. I understand because I too have navigated some difficult paths along the way.

Life events, such as grief, abuse, relationship breakups, trauma, illness, childhood trauma, family and relationship breakdowns, work, and stresses of everyday life can impact how we feel.

These emotions can lead to feelings of anxiety, guilt, fear, anger, hopelessness, confusion, low self-esteem, low confidence, and depression.  But, together we can explore what's happening so that you find clarity in your life once more.

As a compassionate counsellor, I will help you understand what triggers your emotions and find ways to manage and make sense of them, restoring some control over your life.

My goal is to support you through the process in a non-judgmental way. I will listen to your story with warmth and understanding in a confidential calm space,

Trusting someone new can feel scary, but together, we can build a therapeutic relationship in which you feel comfortable talking to me about what's happening in your life at a pace that feels right for you.

Approach to Relationship Therapy & How I Work

I also provide therapy to couples whose relationships are going through a tough time, and when you need extra support to work through the bumps in the road. My couples therapy practice is about helping partners navigate the challenges that can create stress even in the strongest of relationships.

Whether your relationship is struggling with communication breakdowns, dealing with the aftermath of betrayal, or trust issues, I'm here to provide a safe, non-judgmental space. We tackle everything from recurring conflicts and communication issues to more intimate challenges like sexual problems that can create distance between partners. My approach is compassionate and practical - we'll work together to understand the root of your struggles, develop healthier communication patterns, and help you reconnect in more meaningful ways.
