I graduated in Shiatsu Shin Tai from the British School of Shiatsu in 2017, where I began training in Chi Kung in 2015.
Shin Tai differs from other forms of Shiatsu by including direct Hara treatment. This gentle yet powerful technique accesses self-knowledge held in the abdomen: the centre of our being. Hara massage is always optional and we work at your body's own pace of change. A full treatment can be given without abdominal contact if preferred.
Chi Kung training allows me to bring deep nourishing energy and intuitive response to your Shiatsu Shin Tai treatment. The life force that is cultivated in Chi Kung practice is the same life force that we connect with during a treatment session.
We begin with a short chat to discover your needs and priorities in seeking treatment. I will ask if you have any areas of discomfort, recent surgery, scars or issues that you are currently working through.
We can work on the futon, body cushion, massage table, or chair. Before starting the treatment we get you as comfortable as possible using cushions and other supports. This enables you to get the maximum benefit from your treatment, entering the deep relaxing state where the parasympathetic nervous system activates self-healing.
Shin Tai works with the Five Element system of East Asian medicine. Dietary and lifestyle recommendations based on your Five Elements diagnosis can be given on request.
My bodywork practice is trans inclusive.
