I have a mixture of practical, lived and academic experience:
I have supported women who have experienced trauma, mental health conditions and chronic pain. Offering women the opportunity to learn life skills that prepare them for employment, education, financial, family, and self care. I work collaboratively, in a trauma informed way to help empower women to rebuild their lives.
I have been privileged to work with many people, providing yoga therapy services via "Hope in Yoga". I have had the opportunity to work with some wonderful people to provide workshops, training and group courses which has been a wonderful learning experience for me.

I have a particular interest in nervous system health, exploring how yoga therapy can help recovery from trauma, mental health and chronic pain.
Practices are explored to promote self awareness, grounding, emotional stability and self regulation. By understanding the status of your nervous system, to recognise what is happening inside and to accurately identify whether in "safe mode" or "survival mode" (fight, flight, freeze, flop) opens up possibilities to select the appropriate practices to help stabilize yourself and return to safe mode. Self regulation gifts you the ability to feel what you feel and act in a way that is consistent with your values and long-term wellbeing. Reconnecting to the body reconnects you to your emotional life. Arriving in the body is a way to be authentic, heart led and grounded. Arriving in the body could also be referred to as embodiment or presence.
I ask individuals to complete a Health Questionnaire, for me to understand more about health and specific needs. We work collaboratively at your own pace, either via Zoom or face to face, depending on location. Sessions can be weekly, bi-weekly or monthly and can last between 60-90 minutes. Payment please before the session begins and I would be grateful for 48hrs notice if you are to cancel our appointment. Last minute cancellations will be charged at 75% of total fee. A curious approach is recommended and sessions will have a deliberate emphasis on choice, autonomy, empowerment and freedom.
Limitations - I am not making any promises to cure any health conditions. Depending on the severity of your problems, it may take some time to see lasting change. However you should see some positive shifts with each session. You may need to work with several practitioners to look at food, exercise, relationships, trauma history, pain and fatigue, medical reviews etc.
